A Malaysian Festival That I Celebrate

Malaysia is a country that full of many festivals with many races form. The festivals such as Deepavali, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, Wesak and Christmas. One of the biggest festival that i had celebrated is Chinese New Year.

In Chinese New Year, I have to go back to kampung with my parents to celebrate with grandparents and other relatives once a year. Once a year, we will gather around to see each others and have a reunion dinner that prepare by my grandma. Once a year, I will be able to receive "angpau" from relatives and grandparents.

In Chinese New Year, I will go out with my lion dance troupe to performs lion dance at houses, shopping mall and other places. It is the funniest time when i be able to act as lion and play drum with my another "family". Every year, I be able to see masters and seniors come back from oversea or other places to have fun. Every time, we will have a competition to see who can jump the most. My master say in Chinese New Year is always the perfect time to improve ourselves. After finishing all the performances, our team will always have a reunion dinner.

Beside Chinese New Year, I also celebrate Christmas. My mom and brother is Christian after all. In Christmas Eve, we will go to relative house and have a Christmas Eve dinner. Even though I m not a Christian, the best part is i able to receive Christmas present from my mom and relatives. My mom presents are always full of surprises and I always look forward to it every year.

Malaysian festivals are important to us. They brought different races in Malaysia together as a big family.
